Gyokuro Green Tea

We think Gyokuro is by far one of, if not the best, green teas from Japan. During production, the tea is covered with black curtains or bamboo and straw shades to increase the presence of chlorophyll and reduce the tannin content. The result? A darker greener leaf that has a sweeter flavour with no bitterness. Usually brewed in a Kyushu, a special Japanese teapot, you can be sure to enjoy a full-flavoured green tea.

"I was intrigued to try this tea, and was delighted with the lovely smooth flavour. Before brewing the leaves are indeed a bright grassy green colour and after 3-4 mins brewing in 80 degree water the tea is full of flavour. I've just used the last of the packet, so I'll definitely be ordering more from Jenier Teas!"
